Archery a Big Success in the 2012 London Olympics

Archery was one of the most popular competitions in the 2012 London Olympics, the sport maybe getting a big boost from such movies as “The Hunger Games” and “Brave” have brought in much more spectators to the sport. NBC has stated that archery has even topped basketball when televised on its cable channels, averaging 1.5 million viewers. In London, the stands were filled for every session. Tickets were tough to find, in part because some locals apparently clamored for them just to see Lord's. One of the most intense Archery competitions was between archery teams led by Michele Frangilli from Italy and US prospect Brady Ellison in which the result ended with Italy claiming the Gold and the US taking home the Silver. The nest Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and when Rio comes around, the US archer contingent hopes no one will be surprised if the sport is hot again.   Find out more about Archery here
