Some people want fast bows, some want comfortable bows, some people want wicked looking designs, and some want heavy duty. To try and meet the needs of more people, Excalibur has released the versatile 2016 Excalibur Micro 355. This bow is designed to be small but powerful. [caption id="attachment_5925" align="alignright" width="250"]Excalibur Micro 355 Excalibur Micro 355[/caption] A recurve crossbow like the Excalibur Micro 355 will always battle a few things; size, speed, and draw weight. Due to the nature of the recurve design comfortable draw weights have been achieved by having wider limbs. As the limbs get narrower the bow would get more difficult to draw or you would be losing speed. So how do you make a recurve crossbow people can actually draw, that stays compact, and still has the power hunters are looking for? The answer is in the next generation of limb technology from Excalibur. Limbs on the Excalibur Micro 355 are the generation two Compact Recurve Technology. These limbs are ultra tough and out perform the old Excalibur limbs by 60%. Of all the Micro series crossbows (315,335,355 each denoting the arrow speed of the crossbow) the 355 is actually the thinest of them all, measuring a scant 21 inches when cocked. These limbs have been specially designed to allow for a compact disposition and still maintain high arrow speed with a manageable 280 pound draw weight. In addition to the thin width of the Excalibur Micro 355, this bow is also light due to the comfortable Feather-Lite Skeletonized stock. This stock has trimmed away all the excess material leaving only what is necessary for the bow to stand up for long term performance. With an overall weight of just over five pounds, the Micro 355 is a light crossbow that is definitely easy to tote around. In the safety realm Excalibur wasn't taking any chances when they designed this compact and powerful bow. With the Guardian Anti-Dry-Fire System you can rest assured both you and your crossbow will be protected from an accidental fire. In addition to a quality dry fire system, the oversized finger guard will ensure your fingers stay clear while the bow unleashes its stored energy. If you are looking for a compact recurve crossbow that has the power to take down most game animals in America, the Excalibur Micro 355 is worth taking a look at.
