[caption id="attachment_5791" align="aligncenter" width="175"]Barnett Barnett has released its new crossbows of 2016, and the Vengeance 2 is an intriguing option.[/caption] Some people are traditionalists and try to stick close to the roots history dictates. Others are more contemporary and are looking for the latest and greatest modern innovations in all walks of life. If the latter is a more fitting description of you, the Barnett Vengeance 2 is a crossbow that might fit your style. [caption id="attachment_5959" align="alignright" width="250"]BARNETT-78061-2T Barnett Vengeance 2[/caption] Barnett's new crossbows of 2016 offer a little bit for everyone to get excited about. The reverse limb design of the Barnett Vengeance 2 is a catchy and aggressive looking crossbow some people trip over just to get their hands on. This capable bow flings arrows downrange at an impressive 380 feet per second and only uses a 145 pound draw weight to accomplish the task. Speeds like these, from the relatively low draw weight, are achieved through the use of aggressive cams. It also features an 18 inch power stroke which helps to achieve the higher arrow speeds. Like all things in life the longer power stroke has trade offs. This long power stroke will produce higher arrow speeds, but will require a longer pull when cocking the bow. At 145 pounds of weight, the longer pull won't deter most folks from this bow. The Barnett Vengeance 2 reverse limb crossbow is also an interesting mix when on the topic of weight. This crossbow weighs in at 7.9 pounds, which wouldn't classify it as one of the lightest bows on the market. However, the extra weight of this crossbow could be viewed as a positive attribute of this bow. Heavier bows tend to be quieter shooters than lighter bows. Any seasons whitetail hunter has been the victim of string jumping, and a heavier bow, mixed with the high arrow speed might just be the blend you are looking for. It just depends on what you are looking for out of your bow. The Barnett Vengeance 2 has a few extras that might be enticing to shooters. One extra you might like is the flip down forward handle. Forward handles can give the shooter a different feel from the standard forward grips, and some feel like it offers more control. One might be advised to use this as well in order to keep your fingers out of the path of the string. In the end the Barnett Vengeance 2 reverse limb crossbow is an enticing crossbow for someone looking for a bow that incorporates new ideas and technologies. When it comes down to purchasing a new crossbow, it is all about personal preference. NEXT: NEW CROSSBOWS OF 2016: TENPOINT VENOM EXTRA
