They gained their reputation by selling world class carbon arrows for hunters and target shooters. Not only have they produced arrows that won Olympic gold, but when you browse hunter's quivers you'll likely find more than a few that trust Carbon Express arrows in the field. Their gear performs and has withstood the test of time. Again, Carbon Express gets archery, so don't be surprised if the new Carbon Express crossbows become more popular in the upcoming years.

Carbon Express Intercept Axon

[caption id="attachment_6628" align="alignleft" width="206"]Carbon Express Crossbows Carbon Express Intercept Axon[/caption] Although relatively new to the game, Carbon Express crossbows already are showing some variety. Their flagship bow in 2016 is the Intercept Axon. This bow has more than enough zip and shoots arrows downrange at 360 feet per second. It has the power to take down anything you'll likely ever be hunting. When you look past the power of the bow though, you'll see this crossbow is trimmed out with quality accessories that really enhance the bow. First off, the stock of the Intercept is modeled after popular AR rifle stocks. It has a six position butt and a folding tactical foregrip. This kind of adaptability can allow the bow to adjust to your particular shooting preferences. Not only does the AR stock allow for comfort but the Picatinny rail allows for many popular AR components to be mounted to this crossbow as well. For shooters out there who like to customize their shooting rigs, the Intercept Axon might be appealing.

Carbon Express Intercept Supercoil

[caption id="attachment_6629" align="alignright" width="205"]Carbon Express crossbows Carbon Express Intercept Supercoil[/caption] Of the three Carbon Express crossbows of 2016, the Intercept Supercoil would have to be considered their middle of the road model. It offers many of the same features of the Intercept Axon but for a greatly reduced cost. Built on the same Picatinny rail system you can adjust this stock the same way you can adjust the Axon, and add accessories in the same way. It also whips arrows downrange at the same speed of 360 feet per second so you are getting the same performance in that regard. The difference likely lies in the overall quality of the crossbow, with the Intercept Supercoil likely not being machined to the same quality as the Axon. If you are looking for a highly adaptable crossbow with some serious performance though, it may be worth closer inspection.

Covert 3.4 Hot Pursuit

[caption id="attachment_6630" align="alignleft" width="179"]Carbon Express crossbows Carbon Express Covert 3.4 Hot Pursuit[/caption] Of the three 2016 Carbon Express crossbows the Covert 3.4 Hot Pursuit has the lowest retail tag. That being said, this bow still performs at a level you would expect from Carbon Express. As far as performance goes the Covert 3.4 will shoot your arrows downrange at an adequate 345 feet per second. If you are looking for the fastest crossbow out there, this may not be for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a crossbow that can simply get the job done it might be worth a closer look. It is designed more traditionally than the Intercept models and doesn't offer as much customization. The Covert still has a Picatinny rail system and an adjustable foregrip so you do have some flexibility in the way it feels and shoots. One nice thing about this crossbow is the compact size of the rig overall. At just over 30 inches long and 12.5 inches wide when cocked, it has a fairly slender profile. For someone looking to get their hands on one of these Carbon Express crossbows, the Covert 3.4 might be a good entry level bow. Any of these three Carbon Express crossbows would be an adequate hunting tool. They all have the performance to hunt the most popular big game species here in North America. Whether you hunt or simply target shoot for fun, these bows all have a reputation for accuracy as well. In the next few years don't be surprised if you see more Carbon Express crossbows popping up. With the company's commitment to quality and accuracy, this new lineup of crossbows are sure to be a hit. NEXT: HORTON CROSSBOW INNOVATIONS; THE NEW BEGINNING
