For whatever reason I try and pinch pennies wherever I can. In the grocery store, buying my hunting gear, vehicles, whatever. I like a good deal. This thriftiness is what led me to purchase a bargain hunting backpack several years ago. Sure, it wasn't necessarily the best fitting bag, or just what I was looking for, but it was a great deal. I used the bag for several seasons but always found myself trying to modify it is some way to meet my needs. These modifications generally caused new problems along the way. After several years of problems, I finally decided to break out some of my dusty money and buy a brand new quality hunting backpack. Let me tell you, it was money well spent. Slinging the right bag over your shoulders can make hunts much more enjoyable. Every hunting backpack has a purpose, and these are 5 great hunting packs that will fit the bill for a variety of upcoming hunts.

One option that has a boatload of space is the Condor 3-Day Assault bag. This back has a cavernous 3038 cubic inches of space with actual dimensions of 22"T x 17"W x 11"D. I know guys that could move using this bag. It also comes designed with a variety of small compartments that can keep you organized. If you are going somewhere dry, this pack also has a pouch to accommodate six litters of water. Plenty of water to keep your throat wet. Serious backpackers will notice the waist belt right away, a must have for a large pack. Another large hunting pack for consideration is the Badlands 2200 Hunting Pack. This pack comes from one of the top names in hunting backpacks. While smaller than the Condor this Badlands pack has one feature hunters are sure to love; an internal aluminum frame. I've use internal frame packs, external frame packs, and frameless packs. Internal frames like the one in this pack make them very comfortable to haul with.
